Writing a Qualitative Methods Section for Academic Research
You are cordially invited to join the online workshop “Writing a Qualitative Methods Section for Academic Research”, organised by the Teaching and Learning Community of Practice (T&L CoP) on 2 April 2025. |
|
Abstract: | Communicating that our knowledge claims – our arguments – are based on a robust empirical basis and deep analysis is an essential skill for researchers. Qualitative researchers, working with data gathered from interviews, ethnography, focus groups, and documents, will find themselves trying to justify their research design, data collection, data analysis in peer reviewed articles, methodological appendices in monographs, and reports for non-academic audiences. This workshop focuses on some key considerations for writing a compelling methods section that transparently details your methodological practices, and anticipates potential critiques. The workshop will consist of some individual and group work. |
