‘Guidelines on Use of AI Tools’ Sharing Session Series
We cordially invite you and your colleagues to our sharing session series, ‘Guidelines on Use of AI Tools’, taking place in late August. The event aims to familiarise CUHK teachers with the revised Guidelines on the use of AI tools in teaching, learning, and assessment, with particular emphasis on grading and feedback practices. Details are as follows:
|
|
Session I: Implementation of the Approaches of Use of AI Tools in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment | |
Date: | Wednesday, 20 August 2025 |
Time: | 3:00 pm – 5:15 pm (Hong Kong Time) |
Venue: | LT4, 2/F, Yasumoto International Academic Park (YIA), CUHK / Zoom |
Event Abstract: |
This sharing session will begin with an overview of the Guidelines on the use of AI tools in teaching, learning, and assessment. Following this, it will explore the approaches specified in the Guidelines for integrating AI into student learning activities—with examples of specific tasks where AI can effectively support, and others where its use is less advisable. To bridge policy with classroom practice, three CUHK teachers will share their firsthand experiences implementing these approaches, offering insights into key considerations, practical tips, and effective strategies. In addition, a team of CUHK teachers will present their outcomes on AI integration into the curriculum. Drawing on findings from a university-wide survey conducted by CLEAR, the session will also spotlight current trends in AI use across CUHK’s teaching and learning communities. |

Time: | 3:00 pm – 5:15 pm (Hong Kong Time) |
Venue: | LT2, G/F, Esther Lee Building (ELB), CUHK / Zoom |
Event Abstract: |
This sharing session will begin with an introduction to the Guidelines on using AI in grading and provision of feedback on student work. Building on this foundation, it will explore a range of assessment tasks that lend themselves well—or less appropriately—to AI-assisted grading and feedback. To ground policy in classroom practice, two teams of CUHK teachers will share their firsthand experiences using AI in assessment, offering insights into key considerations, practical tips, and effective strategies. In addition, findings from a university-wide survey conducted by CLEAR will shed light on the current use of AI in feedback and assessment across CUHK’s teaching community. |
