Navigating the Digital Future in HE: Sharing of Good Practices – Shaping Digital Minds: Educating the Next Generation on AI Responsibility

Abstract: In the swiftly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, the educational sector stands at the forefront of cultivating a generation equipped to handle AI with responsibility and ethical insight. The workshop “Shaping Digital Minds: Educating the Next Generation on AI Responsibility” seeks to address these challenges directly through the lens of classroom integration and teacher development.

Our first talk will explore essential considerations for educators integrating GenAI into classrooms and assessments, and strategies to rapport and cultivate digital literacy and ethics in classrooms. The second talk invites participants to map the shifting nature of ‘truthiness’ in our classrooms, introduces the strategy of ‘reparative readings’, and discusses how to develop critical relationships with these emerging technologies. The final presentation highlights how teacher training is adapting to prepare teachers not just to use technology, but to innovate pedagogically, ensuring that AI enhances educational outcomes. This workshop aims to provide educators with valuable strategies and insights to responsibly shape the digital minds of the next generation.
