When examining data about student performance, from aggregated HKDSE entry scores to cumulative grade-point averages, program leaders may see some relationship with how students perform in public examinations to identify those who need further attention and support in a program. This seminar shares initial findings in the program Hospitality & Real Estate and how the program director may consider making use of learning analysis to inform student recruitment strategies and communicate with course leaders on curriculum design. In the second part of the seminar, aggregated data on a university-wide survey of teaching faculty, students and alumni on factors contributing to student success will be shared. Participants will have an opportunity to learn both quantitative and qualitative results from stakeholders, and to see how data can encourage them to consider making changes to the university curriculum.
