To engage and inspired a group of experienced educators about the powerful concept of “Design Thinking” and exploring the possibility of integrating “social enterprising” education into the courses they teach to nurture socially-minded students
Based on Design Council UK, there are in total four steps to execute design thinking, namely discover, define, develop, and deliver. In this workshop, participants will undergo the first three steps through hands-on and interactive processes to have a taste of the creative-problem solving tools and subsequently apply them to their own discipline. A design brief will be provided at the very beginning which participants have to systematically apply a set of design thinking tools that they are to be equipped with and co-create innovative ideas in response. Through the learning experience, participants will be empowered with ‘empathy’, a prerequisite to doing design thinking as well as the ability to define problems with precision. Inspiring innovation cases and debriefing would be conducted at the end.
